In my quest to understand God and proper worship, it only made sense to me that if God were the Creator of all things, then God must have knowledge of creation. That being the case, it is logical that if scripture conflicts with well-known, established scientific fact, then that scripture is not from God. The following list is an incomplete sample of some references to scientific truths contained in the Holy Qur'an. As you read, I urge you to realize that this Glorious Book was revealed in the 600s. That's over 1400 years ago.
Creation of the universe: 1:1 ("worlds"), 41:11 (nebulae), 21:30 (Big Bang)
1:1-2 In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
21:30 Do the Unbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, before We clove them asunder? We made every living thing from water. Will they not then believe?
41:11 Then He turned to the heaven when it was smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come together, willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We do come together, in willing obedience."
Expansion of the universe: 51:47
51:47 With power and skill did We construct the Firmament; For it is We who create the vastness of space. Verily We are expanding it.
Celestial light and movement: 25:61, 71:15-16, 78:12-13 "munir and nur" used for moon, "siraj and najm" used for sun and star, 13:2, 14:33, 21:33, 31:29, 55:5 (orbits of the sun and the moon), 39:5 (night coils or winds about the day), 55:33 (permission by Allah to travel in air and space), (planets have a retrograde and a forward motion), Astronomy in the Qur'an.
25:61 Blessed is He Who made constellations in the skies, and placed therein a Lamp, and a Moon giving light...
71:15-16 "Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a glorious Lamp?"
78:12-13 And have We not built over you seven firmaments, And placed therein a Light of splendor?
13:2 Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see; Then He established Himself on the Throne; He has subjected the sun and the moon! Each one runs its own course for an appointed term. He regulates all affairs, explaining the Signs in detail, so that you will believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
14:33 And He has made subject to you the sun and moon, both diligently pursuing their courses: And the night and day has he also made subject to you.
21:33 It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon: All the celestial bodies swim along, each in its own rounded course.
31:29 Do you not see that Allah merges night into day and day into night; That He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running its course for an appointed term; And that Allah is well acquainted with all that you do?
55:5 The sun and the moon follow courses exactly computed.
39:5 He created the heavens and the earth in true proportions: He makes the night coil about the day, and the day coil about the night: He has subjected the sun and the moon: Each one follows a course for an appointed time. Is He not the Exalted in Power - He who forgives again and again?
55:33 O groups of jinns and men! If you can penetrate the zones of the heavens and the earth, do so! You cannot do so without the authority (of Allah).
Water cycle: 7:57, 13:17, 23:18-19, 25:48-49, 39:21, Seas & Oceans in the Qur'an.
7:57 It is He Who sends the winds like heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy: When they have carried the heavy-laden clouds, We drive them to a land that is dead, make rain to descend thereon, and produce every kind of harvest therewith: Thus shall We raise up the dead: Perchance you may remember.
13:17 He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure...
23:18-19 And We send down water from the sky according to due measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; And We certainly are able to drain it off with ease. With it We grow for you gardens of date palms and vines; in them you have abundant fruits: and of them you eat and have enjoyment.
25:48-49 And He it is Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy, and We send down pure water from the sky - That with it, We may give life to a dead land, and quench the thirst of the things We have created - cattle and men in great numbers.
39:21 Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and leads it through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow therewith, produce of various colors: then it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then He makes it dry up and crumble away. Truly, in this, is a Message of remembrance to men of understanding.
Creation of life: 21:30 (all living things from water)
21:30 Do the Unbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, before We clove them asunder? We made every living thing from water. Will they not then believe?
Botany: 20:53, 13:3
20:53 "He Who has made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads and channels; and has sent down water from the sky." With it We have produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.
13:3 And it is He Who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and flowing rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draws the night as a veil over the day. Behold, verily in these things are Signs for those who consider!
Constituents of milk & the circulation of blood: 16:66
16:66 And verily in the cattle you will find an instructive Sign. From what is within their bodies, between excretions and blood, We produce, for you to drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it.
Embryology: 96:2 (a thing which clings), 23:14 (clings, chewed flesh, bones, skin), 22:5 (in proportion and out of proportion), 32:9 (hearing, sight, and viscera), 16:4, 75:37, 23:13, 32:8, 77:20-21, 86:6-7, 8:32 (sperm and male and female secretions), 22:5 (implantation), 40:67, 75:37-39, 35:11, 53:45-46, He created us in Stages, Part 1, He Created us in Stages, Part 2.
96:1-2 Read! In the name of your Lord and Cherisher Who creates -
Creates man out of a thing which clings....
23:14 Then We made the sperm into a thing which clings; then of that thing We made a chewed lump; then We made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the Best to create!
22:5 O mankind! If you have a doubt about the Resurrection, consider that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like thing which clings, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly in proportion and partly out of proportion, in order that We may manifest Our Power to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then foster you that you may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest of old age, so that they know nothing after having known much. And further, you see the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred to life, it swells, and puts forth every kind of beautiful growth in pairs.
